Nestled deep in the remote mountains of the Manaslu region in Nepal lies the Hinang Thrangu Tashi Chopheling Monastery, a hidden gem of vibrant colors and rich cultural history. The journey to reach this secluded temple is a trek in itself, but the rewards are well worth the effort. The walls of the monastery are adorned with intricate murals and prayer flags flutter in the breeze, providing a striking contrast against the rugged mountain landscape. The Hinang Thrangu Tashi Chopheling Monastery is a true representation of the spiritual heart of Nepal.⁠

As a hiker, there's nothing quite like standing atop a mountain and taking in the vast, awe-inspiring landscapes that surround you. And that's exactly what I experienced while trekking through the Écrins National Park. The jagged peaks stretched out before me. The panoramic views were awesome. I'm happy that I had the opportunity to explore it.⁠

Camping among the sand dunes in Turkmenistan. The desert here is known for its vast expanse of rolling dunes, some reaching heights of over 100 meter. The ever-changing colors of the sand, from deep oranges to pale yellows, created a stunning backdrop for my camp. As the sun set, the dunes were bathed in a warm golden light, making for some truly breathtaking views. But the real magic happened at night, when the stars came out in full force and the silence of the desert was only interrupted by the sound of the wind blowing through the dunes. ⁠

Perched high in the Himalayas, the Serang Gumba monastery offers a glimpse into the spiritual heart of Nepal. Nestled among the rugged mountain peaks, this ancient monastery has stood for centuries as a bastion of Buddhism in the region. This secluded and remote monastery is a very special place. The warm hospitality of the monks and the tranquillity of nature with the now-capped peaks of the Himalayas surrounding it, made this monastery one of our highlight in Nepal. ⁠

As we hiked along the ridge in El Teide National Park on Tenerife, the volcano came into view. The towering peak of Teide, the highest point in Spain at 3,718 meters, loomed above us. The barren, otherworldly landscape was a mix of dark volcanic rock and hues of red, orange and purple. As we looked out over the landscape, the sun slowly set behind the volcano, casting a warm glow over the rocky terrain. ⁠

Ushguli, located in the Svaneti region of Georgia, is a stunning mountain village known for its traditional architecture and breathtaking views. The region is home to some of the highest and most remote mountain settlements in Europe, and Ushguli in particular is renowned for its well-preserved medieval tower houses. The village sits at the base of the towering Mount Shkhara, the highest peak in the Greater Caucasus mountain range, which stands at an impressive 5,201 meters. The surrounding landscape, including the snow capped peaks, is rugged and unspoiled.⁠

The vast expanse of the Rub al Khali desert stretches before me, the sun beating down on the golden dunes. Towering above the rest, this particular sand dune stands majestically, its curves and ridges etched deeply into the sand by the constant winds. The silence is only broken by the soft whispers of the desert breeze. I stand in awe of the natural beauty and power of this incredible landscape.⁠

The Ak-Baital pass, at an altitude of 4655m, is one of the most challenging and breathtaking parts of the Pamir Highway. The winding road through the mountains offers stunning views of the rugged terrain, and the feeling of accomplishment after reaching the summit is unmatched.⁠

The image captures a peaceful moment of cycling through the beautiful Austrian Alps. The lush meadows are filled with wildflowers in full bloom, adding a splash of vibrant colors to the picturesque landscape. Cycling is a fantastic way to stay active while exploring new places and discovering hidden gems. It allows you to travel at a slower pace.⁠

Pedaling through the heart of Madagaskar, I was struck by the beauty of the rugged landscapes and the warmth of the people. The dirt roads stretched out before me, winding through dry steppe and over rolling hills. I passed small villages where children smiled and waved, and where the smell of spices and cooking fires filled the air.⁠

Nepal is one of the most beautiful places on Earth. Just look at this frozen landscape!⁠
